Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a handful of things that can save you some trouble and keep you comfortable in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Waxahachie and the last thing you want is to discover is that you’re facing an AC repair. Going through this simple checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are a separate piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can clog your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
  3. Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the ideal time to arrange your tune-up so any problems or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 972-763-5448.
